Overview
PDF Scanner is designed to help you scan, edit, organize, sign, back up and share PDF documents. We aim to keep your documents under your control.
This policy explains what information the app uses and how that information is handled.
Documents and scans
Scanned images, PDFs, document names, categories, page counts, dates, signatures and extracted OCR text are stored on your device unless you choose to sync, export, restore or share them.
We do not operate a server that receives or stores your scanned documents.
Camera, photos and files
The app may ask for access to your camera, photos or files so you can create or import documents. Content you select is used to create or edit PDFs inside the app.
You can control these permissions in the iOS Settings app.
OCR and signatures
OCR is processed on device using Apple system frameworks. Signature images you create or import are saved locally so you can reuse them in documents.
OCR results may be saved inside the PDFs you create or edit.
iCloud, backup, export and sharing
If you use iCloud sync or backup features, selected document data may be stored in your iCloud account. iCloud storage is provided by Apple and is subject to Apple's terms and privacy policy.
If you export, restore or share a file, the file is handled by the destination you choose, such as Files, Mail, Messages, AirDrop or another app.
Purchases
Premium purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. The app receives purchase status information so it can unlock premium features.
We do not receive your payment card details.
Advertising
The free version of the app may display ads provided by third-party advertising networks. These networks may use device information, such as an advertising identifier, to show and measure ads.
Your advertising identifier is only used for tracking if you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Premium subscribers can use the app without ads.
Apple may provide developers with App Store and crash information according to your Apple privacy settings.
Deleting data
You can delete documents from inside the app. You can also delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
Data that you exported, shared, backed up or synced to iCloud must be managed in the destination where it was stored.
Children
The app is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.
